Ryan “Knockout” Nach is the Executive Producer and CEO of Knock It Out Records. Knockout produces music in a manner that always brings out the best in his artists. His music can be best described as intense yet harmonious, hardcore but modernized, and soothing yet tough. “My Own Worst Enemy”, his most recent executively-produced album, puts all of these characteristics on display like never before.
The Knockout sound can be traced back to 2000, when he purchased his first computer program and microphone after being inspired by Mike “Anton "Antoniades’ rap lyrics. In the next three years of high school, Nach and Antoniades started 501 Records and proceeded to attract local talent to record, including both singers and rappers.
The next step in his career came in 2003, during his freshman year of college at Bucknell University. Along with DJ Un Reaper, he executively produced the Buckdown Compilation, which featured numerous artists. One of these rising artists was Hoffa; together, they created the “Bison Anthem”, a song that was played before every home basketball game from 2004 to 2006, as well as the subject of a five-minute feature on ESPN. Nach then executively produced the album “Built For This”, which was released in Fall 2004. The record featured Ill-Famed, consisting of Hoffa and Blas. A year later, with another album release on the way, Knock It Out Records began to expand, signing five marketing executives as well as the entire Ill-Famed crew (now with a third member, Macho). “What If” was then released in September 2005 to well-received reviews.
In 2006, Knockout signed two new artists: Zeik Knoxx of Brooklyn, NY and Young Fo from Atlanta, GA. In addition, Nach made the acquisition of hip-hop music whiz Mike Becker, who now serves as the President & Chief Operating Officer of the label. In just two and a half months, Knockout and his two newest artists recorded “My Own Worst Enemy”, and behind great music and a large marketing push, the album is a success.
Knockout was approached by Andrew Shapter, the director of the on the rise documentary “Before The Music Dies”, in late 2006 to score the music for their three minute trailer. This was after Shapter heard the song created by Knockout, Zeik & Fo, and Candace DePass (entitled “Before The Music Dies”) after the artists were inspired by the picture.
Currently, Knockout has been working with John Blake, Un Reaper, and several other artists for the numerous albums that will be released in Spring/Summer 2007.
